Bristol Environmental Technologies and Services
What is BETS?
The BETS project was set up in 2006 to support the growth of a vibrant Environmental Technologies and Services sector in the Bristol City Region. Its core objectives are as follows:
- To encourage and facilitate networking and cooperation projects within the sector for business innovation and growth, including provision of better market intelligence; knowledge transfer; access to finance; training and marketing support, and appropriate sites and premises
- To harness the strengths and achievements of the sector for the wider marketing and promotion of Bristol for investment and regeneration
- To raise the public profile and promote the products, services and benefits of the Bristol Environmental Technologies and Services sector on a local, national and international scale
If you are a business whose products or services provide an environmental benefit, there are many reasons to consider joining:
- Sustainable development is top of the agenda for many businesses
- Nationally, the Environmental Technology Sector (ETS) is established and growing, with a £45bn turnover in 2004
- The Bristol Environmental Techology Sector (BETS) is growing and is well placed to build on our city's reputation for environmental best practice
- Joining is free
For more general information about the sector, or the partnership and its work, see the related documents section below. Alternatively, please contact Daniel Oliver in Bristol City Council's Sustainable City team on 0117 9224477 or send him an email.
