New Applicants

If you don't yet have a bus pass, you can apply if you're aged 60 or over, or eligible disabled and live in Bristol. Download the appropriate form from the section below.

The All England Travelcard entitles holders to free off-peak travel on local buses anywhere in England. The only bus services not included are the Bristol and Bath Open Top City Tours.

The All England Bus Concession entitles Travelcard holders to free local bus travel between 9.30am and 11.00pm Monday to Friday and any time on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

However, Bristol has an extended scheme in place for local residents which will remain the same. Therefore, if your journey commences within Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire you can use your Travelcard from 9.00am until 4.00am (following day) Monday to Friday and at anytime on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Platinum Cards

For blind and partially sighted Bristol residents, there is a slightly different scheme in place. Platinum cards entitle blind and partially sighted cardholders to free travel at any time on journeys starting and finishing in Bristol. Journeys in Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire will be free from 9.00am Monday to Friday or anytime Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. Journeys outside these areas will be subject to the standard All England concession 9.30am to 11.00pm.

Companion Entitlement

Persons who are physically unable to travel on public transport without the aid of a companion for the duration of the journey are eligible for a card with a companion entitlement. The applicant must be unable to walk to a bus stop, board and alight from a bus. The companion must be medically required and accompany the card holder for the entire journey to be eligible.

We require written confirmation that you need a companion’s assistance to travel from a General Practitioner or Consultant.
