Community Assets Conference

21 May 2008

Bristol City Council’s first Community Assets Conference took place on 21st May 2008.

The event proved very popular and was well received by those who took part. Unfortunately, we were unable to offer a place to everyone who applied.

The information on this web page is provided especially for those who expressed an interest in the conference but were unable to attend.

Downloads

Most of the conference details, presentations, workshop notes and the material from the delegates’ packs can be downloaded from the links on this web page. We have also included a summary of the feedback received from participants and some photographs of the event.

Outcomes

One of the outcomes of the conference is that the Council has set up a working group which will respond to some of the issues that have been raised by delegates. This will include drafting a policy to govern future requests for community asset transfer and documenting relevant processes and procedures. It is anticipated that this working group will report back directly to the Leader of the Council and the Chief Executive in September 2008.

Other outcomes include the need for advice and technical aid to voluntary & community organisations and the need for the Council to have a single point of information and advice for all enquiries about property and community asset transfer.

The evaluation report can be downloaded here.

To see all comments and feedback received following the conference, please download the detailed evaluation statistics.

A list of all conference delegates is also available.

A selection of photographs taken at the Conference can be viewed on the photo page.
