Introduction

Welcome to the Race Equality section of our web site. Promoting Race Equality has been a core area of the Council's work, particularly since the passing of the Race Relations (Amendment) Act in 2000 which helped strengthen our existing equalities commitment by giving councils a positive responsibility to "eliminate unlawful racial discrimination".
