Planned Downtime

Scheduled maintenance

We have a scheduled maintenance period for this website on the first Friday of every month between 6.00am and 9.00am. During this period the website may be down to allow us to apply security fixes and updates to the servers. The dates for these maintenance slots for the second half of 2008 are: 4th July, 1st August, 5th September, 3rd October, 7th November and 5th December.

What are web statistics

Web statistics represent the usage patterns by members of the public on this web site, www.bristol.gov.uk. We use an analytics service provided by Google to measure page views and website visitors, they are filtered to remove usage by Council staff. (Prior to June 2006 we used a different reporting system based on server log files that measured page views in a different way.) These web statistics represent the access and usage records of members of the public for the www.bristol.gov.uk domain since April 1998.

Availability

We have an external service that monitors our website for availability. You can see the monthly charts using the following link.

Website availability for www.bristol.gov.uk by month.

Our target is for the website to be available for 98.9% of the time per month which represents a maximum of 2 hours downtime a week for planned maintenance.
