Darkrooms and photography at St Pauls Learning Centre
Introduction
St Pauls Learning & Family Centre, in Grosvenor Rd St Pauls has a purpose built, well-equipped and spacious darkroom facility utilising photographic equipment donated by the Watershed. The facility is available for hire offering a discounted membership scheme and programme of courses and projects.

Courses
Follow the page 3 link above for details of a great range of short courses and workshops in 2009, including a programme of accredited Open College Network and some shorter non accredited photography courses.
Darkroom facilities
- 10 enlargers including black and white and colour heads.
- 35mm to large format.
- Separate colour darkroom with Durst Printo 12 x 16 inch colour print processor.
- Black and white film development facilities.
- Daylight finishing area.
- Technical support and chemicals will be provided.
- Availability during evenings and weekends.
- Spacious and fully accessible.
All users of the colour darkroom facility are requested to attend a short, free induction session prior to use. This must be booked in advance with the technician.
Making a booking
- It is advisable to book all darkroom sessions in advance to ensure access to the equipment.
- It is essential to book the colour darkroom at least 24 hours in advance for equipment to be prepared. Colour facilities are not available at weekends.
- Late bookings and drop-in sessional hire for black and white processing and printing will be accommodated if space is available.
- Users of both darkrooms are expected to share workspace and to use the booked enlarger.

Membership
Become a darkroom member for greater flexibility and the following benefits:
- 7 days per week availability – evening & weekends are exclusively for members.
- Discounted rates – low sessional hire rates for members.
Membership Fees
12 months £42 / £21 concessions
6 months £32 / £16 concessions
Concessionary rates are available for full time students, those on benefits, state pensioners and disabled people. Proof must be shown.

Monday to Thursday
10.30am - 1.45pm and 2pm - 5.15pm
5.30pm - 9pm (members only in the evening)
Please note - during school holidays the centre will close at 7.30pm. Therefore the last session of the day will be offered at reduced rates:

10.30am - 1.45pm and 2pm - 5pm
Weekends (members only)
Sat 10am - 1.30pm and 1.45pm - 5pm
Sun 11.15am - 2.45pm
Black & white darkroom fees per session
Non-members £16 / £13 concessions
Plus £6 for prints larger than 12 inches by 16 inches
Colour darkroom fees per session
Non-members £25 / £20 concessions

Cancellations
