Introduction

An inaugural meeting of the Bristol Street Tree Forum was held on the 5th March 2008.  The meeting brought together a number of people representing a range of organisations interested in council trees including trees in the street and in parks and green spaces throughout Bristol.

Headline issues identified in the inaugural meeting of the Tree Forum included:

  • A lack of resources for tree planting and maintenance
  • The need for more joined up approaches between different council departments
  • The need for more consultation about decisions to remove / manage council trees

A number of possible solutions were also discussed including the role of a Tree Forum in taking these ideas forward.

The Tree Forum met for a second time on the 6th May 2008, when it was agreed to hold regular meetings on a 2-3 month cycle.  The Tree Forum membership has agreed a Terms of Reference and Action Plan

Agenda's, minutes and agenda items will be posted on these web pages arranged under the date of the meeting.
