Art and architecture
A swimming pool was built in 1905, and the lake in 1909, with the present boathouse dating from 1925. Since then, local road building has resulted in the loss of the original boundaries of the park and its walls, gates and drinking fountain. The swimming pool was turned into a community garden in in the early 1980s and the bowling greens, though nearly 100 years old, are still very popular. Original Victorian drinking fountain and toilets remain.
Community, clubs and associations
The Eastville Park Action Group (EPAG) is a very active local user group. The group can be reached through the contact details below. Find out more about getting involved in supporting your local park or green space.
Developments
Currently plans are being developed to site a car park under the M32 close to the park and to open the community garden. New tennis courts are being provided.
Facilities
Toilets (non disabled accessible) are available. Ice cream vans are present in the summer.

Plants and wildlife
Considering its proximity to the city, Eastville Park is a thriving wildlife habitat. It is popular with bird watchers, with wildfowl and waterfowl on the lake, and kingfishers, dragonflies and damselflies on the weir. The park is also home to foxes and badgers. You may also see bats taking insects above the lake on summer evenings. Look out for the summer flowering meadow near the lake, the ancient hedge and the extensive mature woodland with fine old specimen trees. Click here for more information on wildlife in Bristol.
