Nature in the City

There are some fantastic places to see wildlife in Bristol, even in the heart of the city. The Nature in the  City project focuses on Bristol's network of of Local Nature Reserves. The project aims to support local communities in looking after and improving these special places, as well as running events to encourage everyone to enjoy seeing wildlife.

The Nature in the City sites are:

All these sites are either existing Local Nature Reserves or have been selected for future designation as Local Nature Reserves.

Events

From bat detecting to wildlife walks, and bug hunting to 'owl prowls',  there is something to interest everyone in the Nature in the City events programme. For more details download the programme here.

Get Involved

Many nature reserves have friends' groups involved in looking after them. These groups welcome new members and provide opportunities to learn about nature conservation and to meet new people.
