Introduction
A green lung in a densely built up inner city area, St Agnes Park is now a characterful and popular community park reflecting the vibrant and multi-cultural area which it serves. The park is due for improvement works in 2009.
Access
Access is from Davey Street and Thomas Street, St Pauls.

Buildings
Today St Agnes is the only park in Bristol to have a park keeper living in the lodge, which is also a building which brings the community into the park. The building's new annexe also houses a management committee drawn from local communities, together with offices and meeting space for various community groups. In 2002 St Agnes Park received a mention from the Civic Trust in recognition of the architectural restoration of the lodge.
Community, clubs and associations
A very active local community group is working to improve the park – for more information, contact Bristol Parks (see below). St Pauls Unlimited, a partnership addressing local issues, also represents local people in matters relating to the park and promotes events in the park. Events
Bristol's parks host hundreds of events each year from keynote festivals and performances in the city's magnificent green spaces, through sporting events and charity fundraisers, to smaller scale community events in local parks. Most of these events take place from April to September. Park Detectives
Park Detectives is a local project to link Bristol's schools with their local parks, and encourage children and young people to learn about and enjoy their local parks. St Agnes Park is one of those featured - visit Park Detectives to find out more.
Plants and wildlife
In common with most local parks, most of the original features are now lost, but new features include a diagonal row of cherry trees and a memorial garden to the community leader, Evon Berry. Click here for more information on wildlife in Bristol.
