Kingsweston Eco-Schools action meeting

Kingsweston Eco-Schools action meeting

Johanna Welch, Eco Co-ordinator at Kingsweston School, sent us this great photo of her Eco Committee and their Sea Mills Juniors counterparts.

Johanna Welch has recently taken on the role of Eco-Schools Co-ordinator at Kingsweston School. The last co-ordinator left and although the school continued doing some great eco stuff they forgot to re-apply for their Green Flag. To get back on track the Eco-Schools Committee from Sea Mills Junior School visited Kingsweston to help complete an environmental audit.

Johanna told us:- ‘First pupils and staff filled out questionnaires. Next, we talked about the good things Kingsweston was already doing. Then, we thought about how we might make our school better.  The pupils from Sea Mills Juniors shared with us what they did to earn their Green Flag. We finished the meeting off with drinks and biscuits and a plan to travel to Sea Mills Juniors for a visit. ‘

Johanna and her team are now working on their new Action Plan and hope to apply for their Green Flag later this year.
