Care Direct - information for older people and disabled adults and their carers

*

Care Direct is a service for vulnerable adults, older and disabled people, their families, friends and carers. It provides information about - and access to - social services, benefits and other resources.

It does this by providing:

  • a telephone helpline dealing with any issues concerning older people and disabled adults
  • a 'gateway' for information and advice
  • access to a range of community resources
  • help for older and disabled people to apply for benefits
  • a contact for safeguarding concerns - the abuse of vulnerable people
