Arts: Information and Advice
Information and Advice
Arts and culture have a real role to play in our towns and communities, providing genuine opportunities for people to come together, to innovate, to create and to engage in community life. The arts can transform and improve the places where people live.
The Neighbourhood Arts Service works within the framework of the Council’s values and key priorities, and is a contributor to priorities within the Cultural Strategy Action Plan. The service aims to strengthen and stimulate the distinctive identity and ‘well-being’ of the city and its communities, by developing creativity in individual, social and economic terms.
Arts encompasses a broad spectrum of music, dance, theatre and live production, visual art, video and film, photography and multi-media. It is a key component of activity identified as culture, and Bristol City Council has committed itself, together with partners from across the city and region, to a programme of action.
