Map, public transport and parking

Drawing of the rear of the Central Library by Samuel Loxton (1857 - 1922). One of over 1500 Loxton illustrations held in the Reference Library (ref. N989).Here's a map showing the location of the library, which you can also use to generate directions.

  • Pay and display parking is available at both the front and side of the building. In both cases disabled badge holders may park free.

  • Deanery Road at the front of the building is closest to the level ramp entrance, and has three parking bays for disabled badge holders.

  • There's more pay and display parking on College St, about a hundred metres from the library. Note that building work will affect the number of spaces and access until around March 2009.

  • There are nine parking bays in College Square, at the side of the building, via Anchor Rd.

  • Apart from the parking bays, 'No waiting at any time' applies to all nearby streets.

  • Bus services are accessible from College Green/Park Street, from Anchor Road, and from The Centre.

  • Temple Meads railway station is a 15-20 minute walk to the library. Alternatively, buses 55, 8A and 9 stop at College Green, whilst numerous others go to The Centre. View the National Rail timetable.
