School Library Service
Introduction
We provide library resources, training and support to all teachers, including home educators, and those involved in school library management in school at all levels. Have a look at our latest newsletter.
Why Use the School Library Service?
- Ofsted report Good School Libraries: making a difference to learning (2006, ref: HMI 2624) states that the best school libraries surveyed were the result of the headteacher's clear understanding of the library's key role in raising standards and the use made of resources and training offered by a school library service.
- To achieve an effective school library/learning resource centre that will enhance teaching, learning and reading for pleasure throughout the school.
- For impartial, professional advice on all aspects of running a school library/learning resource centre.
- To get best value for the school book fund.
