Important information
Pool closure for refurbishment
Works are set to begin next week, Monday February 22 and will involve the closure of the pool for approximately 12-weeks.
The pool will undergo refurbishment work to meet the standards of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and the first phase of the project will focus on internal works and include:
- redecoration of the existing shower/toilet areas
- installation of a disabled changing/toilet/shower facility and hoist to assist disabled users into/out of the pool
- redecoration of the foyer, including the lowering of the counters
- installation of a disabled entrance with a ramp
- reconfiguration of cubicles to include mother/toddler/family changing facilities
- redecoration of the ceilings above the changing cubicles
- roof repairs and minor building repairs.
The second phase includes the removal of the wall located on Dean Lane to provide a drop off area and disabled parking.

Why not walk or cycle to your local pool. This is also a great way to warm up gently. Cycle parking stands are located at all Everyone Active pools or you can leave the car at home and use Walkit to plot your walk. You will be offered a direct route between two points, or a quieter off-main-road route, with estimates of route length, time taken, CO2 saved and calories burnt on your healthy walk.

Price increase
There will be a price increase on general activities at SLM leisure centres from Thursday, 1 April 2010. Tariffs and
price increases are available from leisure centre receptions. Updated price lists will be available here shortly.
Free swimming
From April 1, 2009 all children and young people aged 16 and under and anyone aged 60 and over - can enjoy free swimming in Bristol’s pools during the published public swim sessions. To take up the free swim offer all swimmers will need an “Everyone Active” card. The cards are free and are available from any of the centres operated on behalf of the council by SLM.
