Bike Loan Scheme
Free Weekend Bike Loan Scheme
Did you know there is a free bike loan scheme right on your doorstep?
The New Deal Flyers bike loan scheme was set up using funds awarded by Bristol City Council Neighbourhood Transport Initiative and has been continually supported by Community At Heart since its launch date back in 2001.
It operates from Baynton House, Lawrence Hill on weekends from 10am to12pm and 2pm to 4pm. There is a wide range of size bikes to fit all the family including electric bikes for the less able cyclist.
Call in for information and details of how to join.
There is no better way of improving your health and having fun at the same time than cycling.
Whether on your own or out with friends and family, the health benefits are huge. The National Cycling Forum research states that cycling provides protection against:
- Coronary heart disease
- Stroke
- Non-insulin dependant diabetes
- Falls, fractures and injuries (through improved strength and co-ordination)
- Colon cancer
- Overweight and obesity
Cycling also promotes psychological wellbeing, notably self-esteem.
What have you got to lose? Give it a try.
