The South Bristol Link

The South Bristol Link has been identified as a potential project in the Greater Bristol Strategic Transport Study carried out by consultants, Atkins.

The Joint Local Transport Plan and Regional Funding Advice identify three sections:

1. A38 - A370
2. Hengrove - A38
3. Hengrove - Hicks Gate

The route of the first two phases has been safeguarded for many years and this part of the route is currently being investigated to establish more fully its costs and benefits. The route of the third phase has not yet been determined and is not currently being examined.

Studies of Phases 1 and 2 will cover full consideration of route options, road and public transport options, environmental, economic and engineering aspects of the scheme. Construction of phases 1 and 2 is currently planned for 2013/2014.

The recent phase of consultation has now closed. For further information on the scheme see West of England Partnership - South Bristol Link.
