North Fringe to Hengrove Package
Background Information
Background details are available at the West of England Partnership's Travelplus website, which sets out its vision for regional transport. Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council have consulted on the proposals as shown on the overall plan and schematic plan.
What is proposed in the Bristol area?
The consultation is now closed. However, for further information on the proposals in Bristol, including route option plan, you can follow the on-line links to view the consultation exhibition boards and consultation leaflet.
What happens next?
The results of the consultation will feed into the development of the scheme and, subject to agreement by Bristol City and South Gloucestershire cabinets during March, a bid will be submitted by April 2010. If the DfT approves the scheme, construction could start in 2013 and would be expected to last four years. Further detailed design work will be required and, as the scheme progresses, there will be additional opportunities for everyone to give their views.
