By-election for St George West

The date of the by-election for St George West has been set for Thursday, October 9, 2008.
Anyone intending to stand as a candidate can collect a nomination pack from the city council’s electoral services office in Corn Street. The office is open Monday to Thursday from 9am to 4.30pm and on Fridays from 9am to 4pm.
The period for submitting completed nominations is from Friday, September 5 until 12noon, on Friday, September 12.
Full details and a guidance manual for candidates and agents are included in the nomination pack. Statutory notices regarding the by-election will be published at www.bristol.gov.uk/elections
The by-election follows the death of St George West councillor John Deasy, who died suddenly, aged 56.
