Electoral register campaign

Bristol’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Christopher Davies has officially launched the council’s campaign to compile Bristol’s electoral register.
Over the next two weeks, nearly 200,000 electoral registration forms will be going in the post to every household in the city. In excess of 300,000 local people are eligible to vote, but they must be on the electoral register to do so. And current records show that one in ten eligible voters fail to register.
The campaign, Check it, sign it, send it, aims to get everyone eligible registered. Local people are urged to check their electoral registration details are correct, sign the form and send it back to Bristol’s Electoral Services as soon as possible.
Every household needs to give the names of those adults eligible to vote, including teenagers aged 16 and 17.
The campaign will see over 50 billboards and poster sites across the city carrying the Check it, sign it, send it message which will also be displayed at libraries, leisure centres and council offices open to the public.
