Tickets for UK School Games on sale

Tickets are now on sale for the UK School Games being hosted by Bristol and Bath from 28th-31st August. Visitors to the games will be able to see the UK's top school aged athletes - some of whom may well be potential future Olympians and Paralympics.

Taking place immediately after the Beijing Olympic Games and before the Paralympic Games, the UK School Games is a multi-sport event for the UK’s elite young athletes of school age.

Over 1500 athletes will compete in nine sports:

  • Athletics
  • Badminton
  • Fencing
  • Gymnastics
  • Hockey
  • Judo
  • Swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Volleyball

With disability events in Athletics, Swimming and Table Tennis. The games will be held at four venues around the region and will replicate a major adult multi-sport competition with an opening and closing ceremony plus an athlete’s village.

2008 UK School Games Venues
·The University of Bath campus will host the athletics, volleyball, table tennis and fencing competitions.
·The University of the West of England (UWE) will be the venue for badminton and hockey.
·Millfield School will host the swimming event.
·Filton College will host the gymnastics and judo competitions.

The UK School Games will be complemented by an exciting community sport and cultural programme. Hundreds of school aged children across the region have already taken part in festivals of sport and in Bristol's harbourside there will be a free dazzling showcase of urban sport from 30-31st August combining demonstrations and workshops from renowned skateboarders, aerial performers, trial bikers and climbers.
