Wellbeing choir for at the Greenway Community Practice

Release Date:  28-Aug-2008

Colston Hall and Bristol City Council are delighted to announce the North Bristol Wellbeing Choir will be holding a series of singing sessions in Southmead this autumn. The wellbeing choir, which has previously operated in other areas of North Bristol, is all about encouraging people to sing to benefit their health.

In partnership with doctors from the Greenway Community Practice and other surgeries, patients will be referred to the choir in order to promote health and wellbeing and encourage a healthier lifestyle.

Singing has proven health benefits, including: lowering stress levels, lifting spirits and also helps those with respiratory, memory and circulatory problems.

These sessions are free to everyone and have been funded by Bristol City Council transition funds, arts festivals and events. Sessions will take place at the Greenway Centre, Southmead from Wednesday, 10 September.
