Bristol launches new service for major investors
Release Date: 07-Jul-2008
Bristol City Council is launching a new approach that will promote the city as an investment location and provide major investors with a ‘red carpet’ reception service.
The new tailored support service and Invest in Bristol website, to be launched by the city council at a special event on Monday 7 July, are aimed at ensuring that Bristol punches its full weight as a top European city for investment, and comes after the city was presented with two prestigious awards by FDi Magazine earlier this year.
The Council’s new ‘InvestInBristol’ website will provide a high quality ‘shop window’ for the city, while the ‘Reception Service for Major Investors’ will provide a straightforward and hassle-free welcome for key investors. The Council’s Marketing, Investment and Enterprise team is now acting as a single point of contact for all investor enquiries, linking up with all of the relevant council services.
This new Reception Service provides:
- Dedicated account management for investors
- Simplified access to relevant council services
- Help with accessing staff and training
- Detailed facts, figures and statistics about Bristol’s economy
The Invest in Bristol website, at www.investinbristol.com, gives businesses and public sector organisations all of the information they need to know about the city, ranging from key sectors, case studies and corporate views, to news, key statistics, an interactive map and videos. The new Reception Service augments the council’s existing investment and property finding services. Through attracting investors to the city we also aim to bring more better jobs for local people.
Cllr Helen Holland, Leader of Bristol City Council, said: "Bristol is already recognised as an internationally competitive city, together we are determined to deliver our ambition for Bristol to be even more successful in the future. The key to realising our city's vision will be providing investors with high quality, timely support when they need it. Our Reception Service will do exactly that."
Bristol enjoys world-class status for science, innovation and creativity; offers outstanding strategic business locations and a highly skilled workforce with excellent universities. It is home to the headquarters of more than 160 companies and has been recently identified as the most attractive English city outside London for Foreign Direct Investment (FDi Magazine, 2008) and quality of life (Cushman and Wakefield’s UK Cities Monitor 2007).
