Cyan Arts in St Nicholas Market
Release Date: 06-May-2008
The latest addition to the great range of stalls at St Nicholas Market is set to open its doors to customers on Friday 16 May.
The new stall 'Cyan Arts' which can be found in the Covered Market opposite Pets Paradise will offer customers a unique range of original photographic artwork by resident artists Jade French and Gillian Stewart.
New owners Jade and Gillian developed a passion for photography many years ago, and recently met at the Totterdown Art Trail, where they clicked and have been working together on a variety of creative projects ever since.
“Opening our new gallery at St Nicholas Market seemed like a natural step, as we both feel strongly about having a space to promote local artists and to raise the profile of photography as an art form” said Gillian.
Co-owner Jade added “A section of our gallery will be dedicated to exhibiting work by guest artists”
This exciting new artspace will have a variety of original artwork which will be complemented by their own affordable range of cards and gifts, as well as CDs by unsigned musicians.
Steve Morris, markets manager, added: “St Nicholas Market offers shoppers a fantastic alternative to the high street, and it is unique shops like Cyan Arts that add to the diversity of the market. We wish Jade and Gillian every success with their new venture.”
