Bristol's half marathon running workshop

Anyone taking part in the 2009 Bristol half marathon - or who is thinking about registering for the race - is invited to attend the next running workshop on Tuesday, June 23. June’s workshops has been organized by Bristol City Council, as part of RunBristol  - a city-wide campaign to get people in the city more involved in sport and running.

Guest speakers at the workshop will be Olympians, Dan Robinson and Tracey Morris, who will be taking part in a training run then sharing their experience and expertise. Both did Athens Olympics (2004) and Stroud-based Dan also did Beijing (2008) - and has been Great Britain's most consistent performer for the past 4 years.

Bristol University Sports Injury Clinic will also be at the workshop to offer free advice.

The workshop is free and takes place at Coombe Dingle Sport Centre, Coombe Lane, starting at 6pm. The workshop includes an hour run from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, followed by question & answer sessions with the guest speakers.

For real running enthusiasts, there’s still time to sign up for a special weekend training camp planned on July 18/19 to help runners get the most from training schedules and to maximize running potential.

There will be a final evening running workshop August 11, which will focus on preparations for the 2009 Bristol half marathon. Further information about the workshops and details of how to sign up for the weekend training camp can be found on the race website .

Race entries for the 2009 Bristol Half Marathon are still open the closing date is July 10, and we are also taking bookings for the July weekend camp.
