Residents’ Parking Scheme - survey results in
Release Date: 17-Feb-2010
A decision on whether to proceed with the proposed residents’ parking scheme in Cliftonwood will be made by Bristol City Council’s Cabinet in March.
A consultation of residents on the final designs of the Cliftonwood and Kingsdown schemes closed at 5pm last Friday. The survey results show a response rate of 25% of households in Cliftonwood and 18% in Kingsdown.
Councillor Jon Rogers, Cabinet Member for Transport and Sustainability said: “All the way through this process we promised to engage local residents. We are very pleased with the response rate to the recent survey and it has provided us with key information on the level of support for the schemes from within the proposed zones.
“The decision will be now made at the Council's Cabinet on March 25th.”
The Council is now following the formal statutory advertisement of the proposal for Cliftonwood, which runs until 4th March.
Work on the Kingsdown proposal continues a few weeks behind and is planned to be advertised formally towards the end of March. It is proposed that the Cabinet will delegate the decision on whether to go ahead on the Kingsdown scheme to the Strategic Director of City Development following the completion of its own statutory consultation.
