Help with your rent and Council Tax

Bristol City Council helps one in ten households in Bristol meet the cost of their rent and Council Tax.

We help single people, couples and families who are working as well those who are receiving state benefits such as Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance.

The amount of help you could receive is based mainly on who lives with you and the total amount of money they have coming in.

Even if you own your own home, you may still be able to receive help with your Council Tax.

Whether you’re thinking about claiming for the first time or you’re already receiving Housing or Council Tax Benefit, these pages are designed to help make sure you’re getting as much help as you’re entitled to.

You can now make a new claim for Housing Benefit, Counil Tax Benefit or both by calling 0117 922 2300.
