Welcome to Bristol City Council's portal for air pollution. Here you can find out information on ambient air quality, what to do about bonfires, industrial pollution, government standards for air pollution, the extent of the Air Quality Management Area and much more.

Clean air is essential for health and helps to make the city a pleasant place to live. Clean air isn't just the responsibility of the City Council, everyone can play their part by changing travel behaviour. Air pollution from road traffic is regulated by the Environment Team at CREATE through the air quality action plan and for individual planning applications. Industrial pollution is regulated by the Pollution Control Team in Bristol City Council for small processes and by the Environment Agency for larger processes.

We monitor air quality in the city and publish annual reports that summarise the results.

Please send us your comments on the air quality section of this site.
