Urban design
Urban Design and Conservation Team's Mission Statement
Our mission is to work with our customers to create a thriving and sustainable city, with places of distinctive character and valued history; a city with safe and accessible streets, public spaces and buildings which are pleasant to use, human in scale and inspiring in their imagination and quality of design.
We do this by:
- Giving timely urban design, conservation, archaeological and public arts advice to development.
- Preparing strategic policy and guidance to assist understanding and delivery of our objectives for the city.
- Designing and implementing improvements to streets, public spaces and infrastructure.
- Engaging with our partners and customers in the advocacy and promotion of best practice in urban design.
