Arts and entertainment
Bristol is a city of cultural excellence - it is vibrant, diverse, dynamic and ambitious, and home to nationally and internationally acclaimed arts and creative industries.
The role of the Arts, Festivals & Events Service is to support, enable and deliver a range of opportunities for professionals, residents and visitors to engage in the arts.
By developing creativity, it aims to strengthen and stimulate the cultural identity and well-being of the city and its communities and contributes to regeneration and social agendas.
The Service does this through:
- Creative Education
- Neighbourhood Arts programme - strengthening local communities through local arts development
- Festivals and events delivery
- Creative Industries development
- Public Art
- Ongoing investment to Key Arts Providers in the city
The team provides strategic leadership for the arts infrastructure and the development of arts festivals and events in Bristol that contribute to making Bristol a world class destination.
