Celebrating Age Festival 2008

Celebrating Age

In a world that seems to be for the young, we are celebrating age...

Building on last year's one day event that attracted over 800 people, this year's Celebrating Age Festival will be a week long extravaganza from Monday, 29 September to Saturday, 4 October 2008.

During the week older people will be able to sample and enjoy lots of different activities and events at venues right across the city:

Swimming - sessions for 50+ adults at a pool near you...

Exercise and healthy activity - armchair exercise, chairobics and walks around beautful parts of Bristol. Have fun and get fit at a local sports or leisure centre.

Creative sessions - watch a film, join a dance session, try your hand at drawing, painting and sculpture, or sing for your health with a fun-loving local choir!

Gardening - learn  from friendly experts how to grow fruit and vegetables!

Join in the Celebration Day on Saturday, 4 October

The week culminates in a day of celebration on Saturday, 4 October at The Council House, College Green, from 10am to 4pm.

At the event older people can enjoy events and activities with entertainment ranging from the light hearted WW2 musical Doodlebugs and Bogeymen, to workshops teaching the latest Salsa moves.

Whether you are looking to take up a new activity or interest, are in need of a gentle massage or simply looking for a fun day out you will find plenty to enjoy during the Celebrating Age Festival.
