Community Transport Commissioning Strategy Consultation 2013

We are consulting on proposals for a strategy to change the way the council commissions and contributes to the funding of community transport in the city. The proposals are based on the needs survey carried out during Spring and early Summer 2012.

Funding provided by the council represents only a part of the funding for community transport in the city. Many services are funded directly by other organisations or service users. This strategy can only focus on the element of community transport that the council directly funds to contribute to its overall priorities.

We are therefore consulting on how the council's community transport budget should be used, who should be eligible to use the services and how services funded by the council should be delivered. We are committed to ensuring that residents, service users and providers (both existing and potential) have the opportunity to have their say on proposals before a final decision is made by the Mayor in Summer 2013.

Upcoming Events:

The Equality representative's forum on the draft strategy proposal will be held on Thursday 11th April between 1030-1200 at City Hall. Invitations to the forums representatives will be issued in due course.

There will be a Community Transport drop-in session between 1200-1400 on Tuesday 16th April at City Hall for anyone who would like to ask any questions or make comments on the proposals direct to council officers.
