Roofing works at the Central Library

Work has started at the Central Library to replace rooflights and make essential repairs to roof areas above the old library building. This work will result in certain areas being cordoned off and unavailable for safety reasons:

• Main Reading Room (First floor) - this will be closed until 1pm on Friday 11 May and Monday 14 May. Please contact the Reference enquiries number 0117 903 7202 to see if these half day closures extend beyond the 14 May.
  
  
• Music and non fiction floor (Ground floor) - this higher section of the ground floor will be closed for a week from Tuesday 15 May. This means that there will not be any access to the music collection or the non fiction range from 007 to 618.2 which includes Philosophy, Religion, Sociology, Crime, Economics, Law and Health. An oversize section covering a wider range of subjects is also inaccessible. We will be offering free reservations for any items which are located in this area.

Please note that whilst the above restrictions are in place the Central Library is open as normal for all other services.
