Go behind the scenes

All take place at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm
Take a closer look at the museum’s World Cultures collections on a store tour with a friendly expert. Suitable for 7+. Book on the day. Tours last about one hour.

Touch but don’t look! Can you detect the mystery object without peeping? An intriguing game of touch bringing history to life. Suitable for 7+
Spring to life!
Monday 7 April, 10am to 1pm
Get up close to nature with wildlife specimens from the museum’s collections. Our curators will be on hand to help you identify all things buzzing this spring. Join us for a mini bug hunt too, weather permitting!
Discover Papau New Guinea
Tuesday 8 April 10am to 1pm
Make your own feather finery and explore the museum’s collections of objects from Papua New Guinea, including a visit to our stores.
Wednesday 16 April,10am to 2pm
Help create a giant mosaic picture based on our Roman Orpheus Mosaic from Newton St Loe and then make a mini mosaic to take home.
Family explorer kits
Discover Bristol Museum and Art Gallery afresh with an explorer backpack. Have a go at the photo trail, take a closer look with a magnifying glass and more.
Suitable for under sevens. £2 to hire (plus £8 refundable deposit)
