2011-12

Term and holiday dates for the 2011-12 school year (starting 1 September 2011):

• Term 1 Thursday 1 September to Friday 21 October 2011
• Term 2 Monday 31 October to Friday 16 December 2011
• Term 3 Tuesday 3 January to Friday 10 February 2012
• Term 4 Monday 20 February to Friday 30 March 2012
• Term 5 Monday 16 April to Friday 1 June 2012
• Term 6 Monday 11 June to Thursday 19th July 2012

The school year is based on a calendar of 195 days. Five days are to be used for staff professional development which means that schools will be open to receive pupils for the legal minimum of 190 days (380 sessions).

It will be necessary for parents and other interested parties to contact individual schools direct for confirmation of the five dates when they will be closed to pupils.

Schools will also be closed for the following public holidays:

• 26 December 2011 - Boxing Day
• 27 December 2011 - in lieu of Christmas Day 
• 2 January 2012 - New Year's Day Holiday
• 6 April 2012 - Good Friday
• 9 April 2012 - Easter Monday
• 7 May 2012 - Early May Bank Holiday
• 4 June 2012 - Spring Bank Holiday
• 5 June 2012 - Diamond Jubilee Holiday  
• 27 August 2012 - Summer Bank Holiday

• Term 2 Monday 5 November to Friday 21 December 2012
• Term 3 Monday 7 January to Friday 8 February 2013
• Term 4 Monday 18 February to Friday 22 March 2013
• Term 5 Monday 8 April to Friday 24 May 2013
• Term 6 Monday 3 June to Wednesday 24 July 2013

Schools will also be closed for the following public holidays:
