More than 450 jobs on offer at South Bristol Jobs Fair
Release date:
Tue, 25/10/2011
The latest in a series of jobs fairs run in partnership by the City Council, Jobcentre Plus and the City of Bristol College will be held at the South Bristol Skills Academy tomorrow (Wednesday 26th October).
Over 20 employers with at least 200 jobs to fill will be present - including Bristol City Council, RBS, Parkwood Leisure and Network Healthcare - to meet with job hunters and talk to them about the jobs on offer. Anyone looking for an apprenticeship will find a range of options open to them on the day.
In addition there will be 250 local full and part-time jobs posted on a Jobs Wall. This gives people the chance to look at a number of vacancies and to compare them side-by-side. Staff from both the Council’s Employment & Skills Team and Jobcentre Plus will be at the Jobs Wall to offer help and advice to anyone who needs it.
500 job hunters attended the last jobs fair held at the Skills Academy in February earlier this year. Several support organizations will also be present offering advice and information and support, including Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures, City of Bristol College, Outset Bristol and Easton Learning Centre.
Council Leader Barbara Janke said: “The jobs fair is an excellent way for those looking for work or training to meet with a range of employers in the city all under one roof. Similar events in the past have proved very popular with both employers and job seekers, and I’d urge people to go along to the Skills Academy next week to find out more about the opportunities on offer.”
The event will run from 10am-2pm in the South Bristol Skills Academy, Hengrove, South Bristol, BS14 0JZ.
