Ashton Gate Primary judged 'outstanding'
Release date:
Fri, 19/10/2012
Ashton Gate Primary School has moved from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ in its latest inspection from Ofsted.
In the report published this week, inspectors praise the imaginative teaching, the harmonious atmosphere and excellent progress by all pupils.
Every possible aspect of the 453-pupil school was found to be ‘outstanding’ by inspectors as they watched 30 lessons and met with staff and parents last month. Lessons were found to be carefully structured to generate curiosity, with teachers finding imaginative ways to keep everyone engaged.
Chair of Governors, Lloyd Fletcher, said:
“This is really pleasing recognition for all the hard and smart work throughout our school community over several years, by staff, pupils, parents, and governors. Of course this is not the end of a journey for us; instead, it gives us confidence that we are on the right path, and we will just continue to get even better at what we do.”
Head teacher, Sue Willson, said: "We are delighted to receive this outstanding inspection report."
