500 jobs on offer at Jobs Fair
Release date:
Mon, 01/10/2012
Five hundred jobs will be on offer at the next popular Jobs Fair held at the Council House, College Green this Thursday (4th October).
Organised by Bristol City Council and Jobcentre Plus, the event will be held from 10am to 2pm.
Employers attending include: MITIE, SSP Bristol Airport, Compass Group, C7 Decorators, Hays, Total Security Services and a number of employers with jobs in the Care sector
New features at this event include two advice sessions at 11am and 1pm for people thinking about starting up at their own business. They will be run by the organisation Outset Bristol who specialise in start-business advice. Places can be booked beforehand by calling 0117 9222236, or on the day if space remains.
Also new for this October’s fair will be mini-careers sessions run by the National Careers Service. These are aimed at jobseekers attending the fair who would like a short advice session to boost their confidence or answer immediate questions ahead of meeting prospective employers on the day.
Council Leader Simon Cook said: "We value our strong partnership with Jobcentre Plus locally and these Jobs Fairs are a very effective way of showcasing job opportunities across the city. I’d urge those looking for work and thinking about starting their own business to come along."
