Ping! Bristol - still time to play
Release date:
Fri, 20/07/2012
Officially, there are only eight days left to join in the Ping! Bristol fun. But enthusiastic ping-pong players need not be disheartened as the Ping! Bristol legacy will see over 20 tables remaining in the city so people can continue playing in local parks and open spaces.
Ping! Bristol comes to an end on Friday, July 27, culminating with a grand finale at St Paul’s Community Sports Academy. The grand finale runs from 6pm to 10pm with a host of activities and competitions played over 18 tables. Winners of the ‘golden tickets’ will gather for a ping-pong battle to find Bristol’s top player and to take the right royal title…the ‘King’ or ‘Queen’ of Ping!.
“There’s no doubt Ping! Bristol has been a huge success,” says Councillor Guy Poultney, Bristol ’s executive member for festivals. “We have had over 23,000 people taking part in Ping! Bristol competitions, events and just playing fun games of ping-pong with friends and family.
“Ping! Bristol has demonstrated that people of all ages and from all parts of the city enjoy getting out into our parks and public spaces and taking part in a friendly game of ping-pong.
“And now with 21 tables staying in the city, local people will be able to play all year round. I would also like to add a huge thanks to all the people who worked so hard to bring Ping! to Bristol."
