Supporting children with a disability to take part
We are keen to encourage and include more young people with a disability into mainstream activities so they can enjoy a positive and fun experience in their chosen sport or physical activity.
We hope to inspire young people to try new sports and enjoy the social aspect of making new friends. If your child has a disability and/or additional needs and they would like to take part in any of these sports, then please do get in touch. We will be only too pleased to discuss your child's needs, and determine with you the level of support they'll need to get the most out of the activities. For further enquiries please call Jay Lee, Disability Sports Development Officer on 07795 315 265.

Sport Unlimited in more detail
Sport Unlimited is part of the new five hour offer for young people in England. Nationally, £36m of new Government funding for young people's sport has been ring fenced for this programme by Sport England.
Sport Unlimited funding is targeted at "semi-sporty" children, young people and young adults living in Bristol. It will engage them in an extra 1-2 hours a week (minimum 10-weeks) of high quality sport and physical activity.
Bristol has been allocated £62,000 to provide a series of extra-curricular sports sessions during this autumn and in spring 2009 - with the prospect of further money for summer 2009 and beyond.
10-week sessions are being organised across Bristol in a variety of activities from parkour to climbing and football to cheerleading. And there are special inclusive sessions for young people with disabilities. All of these sessions can be found on this web page others will be added as and when they are up and running.
Sport Unlimited in Bristol is supported by the Bristol School Sport Partnerships and The West of England Sport Trust (Wesport).
