Community Clean Up fund

Support to help clean up your high street or shopping area.

We’ve been given £80,000 by the government to help community groups clean up high streets and shopping areas.

What we can do for your community group

We can use this money:

  • to buy equipment such as, litter pickers, gloves and brooms, for you to use and keep
  • for training such as, removing graffiti
  • to fund your local events and encourage more people to get involved

Who can apply

You can apply to receive help from the Community Clean Up fund if:

  • you plan to clean up one of the high streets or shopping areas (pdf, 80KB) (opens new window) listed in the local plan
  • your group is:
    • a constituted organisation and has a bank account
    • a charity
    • a development trust
    • a faith group
    • an educational institution
    • a Scouts, Guides or National Citizen Service group
    • a Business Community Interest Company (CIC)
    • an Industrial Provident Society (IPS) or co-operative
    • a registered social landlord
    • part of a Business Improvement District
    • a Small to Medium Enterprise (SME)

We can't accept applications from individuals.

The funding must be used by 30 June 2019.
