What is the Litter Critter campaign
If people leave their rubbish in a bag or next to the bin, wildlife such as gulls, foxes and rats will often get hold of it and spread it around.
Our Litter Critter campaign is asking people to get rid of their rubbish responsibly as part of the Mayor’s Clean Streets campaign to reduce litter in Bristol.
Use the bin this summer, or if it’s full, find another one or take your rubbish with you.
Get involved
To help keep our city clean and tidy you can:
- report litter or an overflowing bin
- if a bin is full, find another one nearby or take your rubbish with you
- talk to your neighbours and local councillors and organise a litter pick in your area
- get involved in a local community group already taking action in your area. Contact the Bristol Waste Community Engagement team
- help spread the word by sharing our social media posts, #LitterCritters
- take part in a Bristol Harbour clean up
- report street issues such as fly-tipping
- follow Bristol Waste on Twitter and Facebook
- look out for our Litter Critter animals on 150 bins across the city centre reminding people to use the bin, or if it’s full, take their rubbish with them
