In response to coronavirus (COVID-19), the government announced support for small businesses and businesses working in these sectors:

  • retail
  • hospitality
  • leisure

There are two grant funding schemes:

  • £10,000 under the Small Business Grant Fund
  • either £10,000 or £25,000 under the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund

Note that the grant won’t be paid:

  • on car parks and parking spaces
  • if the property is used for personal uses, for example private stables or artist studios
  • if the business was in liquidation or was dissolved on 11 March 2020
  • if the rateable value of the property is over £50,999

You'll be eligible for either the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant or the Small Business Grant, not both. If you think you meet the criteria for both grants, apply for the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant.
