Your neighbourhood consultation 2017

Due to reductions in central government funding and the needs of a growing and ageing population, the council will have less money to provide services in Bristol over the next five years.

In the summer of 2017 we asked for your views on a group of five Your Neighbourhood consultations which bring together savings proposals that impact on neighbourhoods and local services you may use regularly. They are:

  1. Bristol Community Links
  2. Libraries
  3. Public toilets
  4. School crossing patrols
  5. Withdrawal of funding for Neighbourhood Partnerships

The Your Neighbourhood consultation has now closed. We received nearly 3,750 responses to this consultation, the results of which are available in the Your Neighbourhood 2017 consultation report.

At the same time as Your Neighbourhood, we consulted on proposals to save £1.8m from our Supporting People services, a collection of free prevention services. We received 732 responses to this consultation, the results of which are available in the Supporting People consultation report.

Final recommendations for how we deliver these services in the future will be going to Cabinet on Monday 4 December, with the exception of the Libraries proposal. The plans for libraries are available in the press release.

The recommendations are available in full in the Cabinet agenda papers.
