Social housing lettings scheme: have your say
Social housing lettings policy: have your say
We want your thoughts on the social housing scheme.
The HomeChoice Bristol housing lettings scheme sets out how to apply for social housing, who can apply and what type of home is offered.
The current housing situation in Bristol presents many more challenges than when the lettings scheme was first introduced. We now need to decide if it still works for Bristol and its citizens.
We need to make the best use of our limited housing, creating mixed and balanced communities, without disadvantaging those people with the greatest need for social housing. We also want the application process to be quick and simple to understand.
The review will give us the opportunity to look at who is housed and why and develop options for letting social housing in the future.
To help us achieve this we're talking to people affected by the scheme as well as the wider community. We're also working with social landlords, the voluntary sector and various community groups. You can let us know your views by taking part in a short survey.
The survey is open until 20 March 2020.
Following on from this engagement work, we'll develop different options for changing the scheme.
These proposed options will be consulted on in 2020.
