People Scrutiny Commission role

The role of the commission is the overview and scrutiny of matters relating to the People Directorate. This covers the 4 areas of:

  • Adults
  • Children
  • Education
  • Public Health 

Each area contains its own different groups. 

Adults

This area includes:

  • Maximising Independence
  • Safeguarding and Deprivation of Liberty
  • Approved Mental Health Act Service
  • Strategic Commissioning and Contracts and Quality
  • Early Intervention, Targeted support, and Intermediate Care
  • Reablement and Regulated Services

Children

This covers: 

  • Early Help
  • Targeted Support
  • Care leavers and disabled children and their families
  • Safeguarding including:
    • Child Protection Social Work Services and Permanency
    • Specialist Services for children in care
