Residents' Parking Scheme local reviews

As part of the Mayor's manifesto commitment, our councillors are leading a review of our residents’ parking areas to make sure they work as well as they possibly can.

Online surveys for the following scheme areas ran from Monday 12 September to Friday 2 December 2016:

  • Southville
  • Bedminster East
  • Spike Island
  • St Pauls
  • Easton and St. Philips
  • Kingsdown
  • Cotham
  • Redcliffe
  • Cliftonwood and Hotwells
  • Bower Ashton

We reviewed:

  • scheme boundaries
  • operating hours
  • pay and display
  • the positioning of double yellow lines, loading bays and disabled bays

What happens next

We received a number of suggestions from the online surveys which will be included in new Traffic Regulation Orders for each scheme in 2018.

We would now like to hear from as many residents and businesses as possible to consider a potential change to operating hours/days. You can have your say by selecting your scheme area at the bottom of this page and using the link to our online consultation page.

Feedback on operating hours, from the 2016 online survey and the recent letter and online consultation, will be reviewed by councillors to decide if a change in operation hours/days is required.

Opportunity to comment or object to any proposed changes, including changes to operating hours if relevant, can be made during the statutory consultation period when we advertise the new Traffic Regulation Orders in 2018.

We’ll make sure that each scheme area page is updated as soon as a new Traffic Regulation Order is advertised.  Notices will also be placed on lampposts alerting residents the statutory consultation is underway and where additional information on the proposed changes can be viewed and how comments/objections can be submitted.

Public notice of the statutory consultation will also be published in the press and on our website.
