COVID-19: what we're doing in housing

COVID-19: what we're doing in housing

Changes to services and what we need to prioritise

Changes to services

We've made some changes to our services because of coronavirus (COVID-19). These changes are to help protect everyone and make sure your home remains a safe place to live during these unprecedented challenges.

We're providing essential services only. This is so we can:

  • manage the large number of calls we're getting
  • prioritise your needs effectively
  • make sure we help those who need it most urgently

Private housing, homelessness and housing options

We'll prioritise:

  • advice for private tenants who may be harassed or evicted by their landlord
  • emergency repairs/disconnections of utilities for private tenants (including  advice and support) depending on problem
  • responding to Gypsies and Travellers unauthorised encampments
  • work to secure temporary accommodation for people who are homeless and to move rough sleepers and people in dormitory or shared accommodation into self-contained units
  • welfare rights and money advice to all residents needing financial advice and support
