What you should and shouldn't do in your allotment during coronavirus (COVID-19).

Allotments help people exercise so remain open for now. Some facilities are closed until further notice. This includes toilets, shops, community storage containers and communal sheds. 

You should: 

  • follow government guidelines for hand washing, social distancing and travel to your allotment 

  • wash your hands when entering and leaving, and when using communal taps 

  • always supervise your children, and keep them on your own plot

You should not: 

  • use water troughs for washing hands 

  • share tools 

  • use allotments for social gatherings 

  • allow children to use allotments as a playground

  • take other peoples' children to allotment sites
